Role overview

We are looking for a medical receptionist for 3 afternoon shifts per week to join our team at Hollyoaks Medical Centre. We require a receptionist with a good understanding of EMIS WEB and proven experience of working in a fast paced environment.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. We require a receptionist with a good understanding of EMIS WEB.

Reception/ Administration duties: Providing the first point of contact to patients and other visitors to enable access to appropriate services in a professional and courteous manner. To have a thorough knowledge and work in accordance ofpractice policies and procedures.

Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery.

Liaise with local hospitals and other agencies as appropriate. Receive telephone calls and enter them onto triage list as appropriate, ensuring accurate information is recorded to enable the clinical team to deal with patient queries effectively.

Give results of investigations/tests, i.e. blood, urine, etc. to patients Registration of new patients and updating patients' records as required. Deal with all general inquiries, explain procedures, and make new and follow-up appointments.

To Provide support for clinicians to enable the effective day-to-day running of the practice. To undertake any other tasks allocated by doctors /managers.

Repeat Prescriptions: To have a thorough knowledge of the repeat prescription procedures Action repeat prescription requests and ensure that they are ready for collection by the patient within 48 hours. To deal with queries relating to repeat prescriptions
