Role overview

We are looking to recruit a part time receptionist to join the team at the Victoria and Mapperley Practice. Experience is desired but not essential as full training will be given to the right candidate.

The successful candidate will contribute to working co-operatively and efficiently with other members of the reception team to ensure the smooth running of the department. We are looking to recruit for the following hours: Wednesday 7:45am to 6:45 pm - Victoria Health centre Friday 12:45pm to 6:45 pm - Victoria Health centre Total 17 hours Your key role will be to help patients at the reception desk and promptly answer the telephone, booking appointments, dealing with queries and taking clear messages for other colleagues working at the Practice.

You will also be responsible for a number of administrative duties. We are looking for someone who enjoys dealing with people and has excellent verbal and written communication.

You should be calm under pressure and have a caring and sympathetic nature. Confidentiality is essential in this role.

Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system b. Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments c.

Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately d. Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner e.

Signpost patients to the correct service f. Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies g.

Clinically code data on EMIS h. Process GP download documents i.

Process repeat prescriptions accurately and efficiently j. Action incoming emails and correspondence as necessary k.

Scan patient related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients healthcare records l. Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required m.

Input data into patients healthcare records as necessary n. Work through the task list to ensure they are dealt with in a timely fashion o.

Direct requests for information, i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team p. Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota q.

Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times r. Understand and maintain appropriate infection control procedures s.

Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards t. Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested u.

Support the health promotion lead and display promotional material on the allocated noticed boards and in the waiting room
