Medical Receptionist

Location: Macclesfield Contract: Temporary, initially 3 months (potential to extend up to 6 months) Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00 Pay Rate: 12.71 - 13.50 per hour (dependent on experience)

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Medical Receptionist to join a busy healthcare setting in Macclesfield. This is a full-time temporary position initially for 3 months, with the possibility of extension up to 6 months for the right candidate.

This is a front-facing role requiring excellent customer service, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Greeting patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
Checking patients in for appointments and updating patient records where required.
Providing directions and general assistance to patients and visitors.
Managing incoming telephone calls and responding to enquiries.
Booking, amending and cancelling appointments.
Ensuring patient information is handled confidentially at all times.
Maintaining accurate records and updating databases as required.
Managing reception and waiting areas to ensure a welcoming and professional environment.
Liaising with clinicians and other healthcare professionals.
Undertaking general administrative and reception duties to support the wider team.

Person Specification

Previous reception, administration, customer service, or medical reception experience preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
Confident using Microsoft Office and internal computer systems.
Professional, approachable, and patient-focused.
Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
High level of discretion and confidentiality.
