Assistant Accountant

Location: Sheffield Salary: Up to £35,000 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Elevation Recruitment Group are currently working with a successful business who are looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant on a 12 month fixed term contract.

This is a varied Assistant Accountant role offering exposure across Credit Control, cash book, reconciliations, month-end and wider accounting activities. You'll take ownership of a small portfolio of high-value customers while also supporting the wider Finance team across day-to-day and month-end processes.

Key responsibilities:

Take ownership of Credit Control for a portfolio of high-value customers, ensuring payments are received promptly and accounts are well managed.
Manage cash book transactions and record and reconcile foreign currency transactions.
Support the Finance team with month-end processes, journals and other accounting tasks.
Provide cover for Purchase Ledger when required, supporting the wider team and maintaining continuity of service.
Collect, analyse and consolidate data from a range of business systems to produce accurate and meaningful reports.
Complete supplier and customer checks and ensure new records are set up accurately within the finance system.
Maintain accurate financial system standing data and support the integrity of financial information.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across Finance and the wider business to resolve queries and improve processes.

You'll need strong attention to detail, good communication skills and the ability to manage your own workload.

This is a great opportunity for a Assistant Accountant looking for a varied role with exposure across multiple areas of Finance, working within an established team on a 12 month fixed term contract.
