Assistant Management Accountant Sheffield, South Yorkshire

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious finance professional to join a growing business as an Assistant Management Accountant.

The role would suit either a Finance/Accounting graduate looking to start their career in management accounting, or someone with existing finance experience who is looking to take the next step, broaden their exposure and progress their career.

This is a broad, developmental role offering exposure across management accounts, financial control, commercial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, FP&A and business partnering. As you develop, you will gain increasing involvement in forecasting, budgeting, commercial analysis, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare monthly management accounts, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Analyse P&L performance, investigating variances and providing commentary.
Produce sales, margin, and management reporting.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow forecasting.
Provide financial analysis to support commercial decision-making.
Work closely with Finance, commercial and overseas stakeholders.
Take increasing ownership of financial analysis and business partnering as the role develops.

About You

We are open to candidates at different stages of their finance career, including graduates and those already working in finance who are ready to step up and progress.

You are likely to have:

A relevant degree and/or previous finance experience.
AAT qualified or studying towards CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent.
A good understanding of accounting fundamentals.
Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
Excellent attention to detail and organisation.
Good communication and relationship-building skills.
A proactive, inquisitive approach and desire to develop.
