Medical Receptionist/Administrator Full Time Grovehurst Health We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable Receptionist/Administrator to join our team at Grovehurst Health. Our reception and administrative team plays a vital role in supporting our patients and ensuring the practice runs smoothly day-to-day.
We are therefore looking for someone who enjoys working with people, communicates well and takes pride in providing an excellent service. This is a busy and varied position where no two days are quite the same.
The role Your duties will include: Supporting patients face-to-face, by telephone and electronically. Helping patients access the most appropriate service.
Managing reception and administrative enquiries. Processing patient documentation and requests.
Updating patient records. Working with our clinical and administrative teams.
Using practice IT and clinical systems. Handling confidential and sensitive information.

Providing additional administrative support to the practice when required To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and providing general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties may include, but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, using the appointment system effectively, booking appointments, processing information, and assisting patients as required.
Act as the central point of contact for patients, distribute information, messages, and inquiries for the clinical team, and liaise with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers. Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system Process personal, telephone, and e-requests for appointments Answer incoming phone calls, transfer calls, or deal with the callers requests appropriately Signpost patients to the correct service Prepare sample bottles and forms for Clinical staff, print labels, and request blood on the clinician's behalf.
Making referrals for the District Nursing service Taking appropriate action with 111 reports. Accessing the food voucher portal to obtain vouchers for patients.
Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, team members, and external agencies Clinically code data on the EMIS clinical system. Photocopy documentation as required Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required Input data into patients healthcare records as necessary such as patient blood pressure readings and any other clinical relevant information.
Direct requests for information, i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters, and DVLA forms to the administrative team Action the management of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are processed accurately and efficiently Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner Maintain a clean, tidy, practical working area at all times Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
