We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our dedicated GP Practice team. As the first point of contact for patients, you will be responsible for providing a professional, friendly, and efficient service while managing the demands of a busy healthcare environment.

The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. We are looking for someone who: Demonstrates excellent customer service and communication skills.

You will be responsible for providing high quality administrative and reception support within the Practice, working in accordance with established policies, procedures, and operational processes to ensure the efficient delivery of services and excellent patient care.

Key responsibilities include: Managing telephone, face-to-face, and electronic patient enquiries in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner. Booking, amending, and cancelling patient appointments in line with Practice protocols.

Supporting patients to access appropriate services within the Practice and signposting to services available within the wider healthcare and community sector. Contacting patients on behalf of clinicians and the wider clinical team to relay information, arrange appointments, and provide updates as required.

Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring all information is handled confidentially and in accordance with data protection requirements. Providing a welcoming and supportive environment for patients, carers, visitors, and colleagues.

Assisting with general administrative duties to support the smooth day-to-day running of the Practice. Working collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical staff to deliver an effective, patient-centred service.

The post holder will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational, and customer service skills at all times, ensuring patients receive a positive and professional experience when accessing Practice services. Main duties of the job
