Job description

Job title: Junior Security Systems Designer & Sales Administrator - Full Training Provided Location: Wiltshire (office-based, easy access from Swindon and the M4) Job type: Permanent, full time

Start a career in fire and security. No design experience needed.

Do you enjoy being organised, keeping things accurate and learning how things work? A growing, established security company is looking for a Junior Security Systems Designer & Sales Administrator to join its Sales and Design team. You'll start in sales administration and tender support, and be trained into technical design.

Why this role?

Full training provided. No previous security design experience is needed.
Clear progression. Move from admin and tender support into design, estimating and site surveys, with experienced designers guiding you.
Varied work. You'll work across CCTV, access control, intruder alarms and fire detection, not just one narrow task.
A supportive team. You'll work closely with the Design Manager, Business Development Managers and Sales Director.

What you'll do

Manage the tender inbox and record new enquiries and opportunities
Build and organise tender packs, quotations and proposals, and make sure deadlines are met
Keep the sales pipeline and CRM accurate and up to date
Support the design team with supplier quotes, equipment schedules, bills of materials and drawings
Track RFIs and keep documents filed and version controlled
Attend site surveys with experienced colleagues, take notes and photos, and learn how a survey is done
Over time, help prepare system layouts, specifications and costings, with all designs reviewed by senior team members

What we're looking for

Excellent organisation, able to juggle deadlines
Strong attention to detail
Good written and spoken communication
Confident with Outlook, Word and Excel
A positive, proactive approach and a genuine willingness to learn
A good standard of education including English and Maths, or equivalent practical experience

Nice to have, but not essential

Experience in sales admin, tendering, estimating or technical support
An interest in engineering, electronics or security systems
CRM experience, or familiarity with AutoCAD or technical drawings
A full UK driving licence for site surveys
