Commercial Support Executive (Sales Support)

Location: Ashford, Kent Salary: £35,000 per annum + bonus scheme Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am 5:00pm Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Working Arrangement: Fully office-based

The Opportunity

Diamond Search Recruitment is delighted to be representing an innovative and growing business in the recruitment of a Commercial Support Executive.

This is an exciting opportunity for an organised, commercially minded individual who enjoys working with systems, technology and people and who wants to build a genuine career within sales and business development.

You will work closely alongside a Senior Business Development Manager, forming a two-person commercial team. While the Senior BDM focuses on customer relationships, commercial conversations and closing opportunities, you will take ownership of the detail, systems, administration and follow-through that keep opportunities progressing.

This is far more than a traditional administration role. You will have regular exposure to customers, sales meetings and live commercial opportunities, with a clear opportunity to develop your skills and progress into a more senior commercial position over time.

What Will You Be Doing?

Supporting the Senior Business Development Manager

Work closely with a Senior BDM as their dedicated commercial support.
Manage administration, inboxes, actions and technical details to keep opportunities moving.
Prepare documents, information and materials ahead of customer meetings.
Keep live opportunities organised, accurate and progressing.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and make the sales journey more efficient.

CRM, Systems & AI

Maintain CRM and project management systems accurately and consistently.
Ensure customer records, opportunities, actions and follow-ups are kept fully up to date.
Use AI tools, automation and digital workflows to reduce repetitive administration.
Help develop smarter processes and workflows across the commercial function.
Maintain a high level of accuracy across pricing information, documentation, timelines and customer data.

Customer-Facing Responsibilities

Attend customer video calls and meetings alongside the Senior BDM.
Travel to customer meetings when required.
Listen carefully, capture important information and contribute to commercial discussions.
Help ensure customers receive a professional, knowledgeable and joined-up experience.
Build your understanding of the sales process through direct exposure to customers and opportunities.

Your Development

Receive training and exposure to the commercial process, products and customer journey.
Develop your understanding of sales, business development and commercial operations.
Take on greater responsibility as your knowledge and confidence develop.
Work towards a potential progression route into a more senior commercial/sales position.

About You

We're looking for someone who is organised, commercially curious and highly detail-focused.

You might currently be working in a sales support, sales administration, commercial administration, customer service, project coordination or similar role or you may already have some experience in a sales environment and be looking for your next step.

Most importantly, you'll enjoy working with people and systems.

You'll be someone who:

Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in getting things right.
Is confident using CRM systems and/or project management platforms.
Is genuinely interested in AI, automation and finding smarter ways of working.
Has strong written and verbal communication skills.
Is comfortable joining customer calls and meetings.
Can manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
Is proactive and enjoys spotting ways to improve processes.
Works well as part of a close-knit, high-performing team.
Has an interest in developing a career within sales and commercial roles.
Is confident learning new software and specialist systems.
Is reliable, organised and comfortable working at pace.
