Assistant Accountant

Batley

£33 K- £35 K depending on experience

Join our client's dynamic team in Batley as a Permanent Assistant Accountant, where you'll play a vital role in supporting financial operations within a forward-thinking Prospect company. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to develop their career within a welcoming and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

To support the Accountant in day-to-day accounting management and control, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Assist with monthly management accounts preparation and reporting
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
Reconcile invoices, expenses, and financial data to ensure accuracy
Credit control
Sales Ledger
Purchase ledger
Maintain and update financial records in line with company policies
Collaborate with other departments to gather and verify financial information
Assist in the preparation of reports for senior management and external parties
Participate in audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations
Cash and banking
Assist with Vat return
Admin tasks as required

Candidate Profile:

Proven experience as an Assistant Accountant or similar role
Ideally AAT or equivalent qualification
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Good communication skills, able to work effectively within a team
Proficient in key software such as Excel and accounting systems
A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow
