Known for combining technical excellence with a highly client-focused approach, they provide far more than compliance, acting as trusted advisers and long-term partners to their clients.

This is an exciting opportunity for a capable Bookkeeper / Management Accountant to join a collaborative and ambitious team. You'll play a key role in supporting a diverse client portfolio, becoming an extension of their finance function and helping them gain meaningful financial insight to support decision-making and growth.

Responsibilities will include:

Managing day-to-day bookkeeping for a varied client portfolio using Xero
Processing invoices and completing bank reconciliations
Reviewing bookkeeping work prepared by junior team members
Reconciling control accounts
Posting payroll journals
Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts
Preparing and submitting VAT returns across a range of VAT schemes
Preparing and submitting CIS returns
Acting as a key point of contact for client queries and submissions
Visiting client sites when required to support bookkeeping activities
Providing training and support to clients using Xero
Assisting with ad hoc finance and advisory projects

About You

The successful candidate is likely to have:

Recent bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice or outsourced finance environment
Experience preparing and submitting VAT returns and reconciling control accounts
AAT qualification or strong experience gained in practice
Xero certification and confidence using cloud accounting software
Excellent communication skills with a client-focused approach
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Good attention to detail and commercial awareness
Proficiency in Excel, Outlook and Word

Previous management accounts experience would be advantageous, although training and support can be provided for someone looking to develop in this area.

Experience with Xero reporting, Datamolino, Concur, Expensify or Fathom would be beneficial but is not essential.

What's on Offer?

Competitive salary based on experience
Flexible and hybrid working arrangements
Flexitime and home working options
Early finish every Friday
Discretionary annual bonus
Full study support where appropriate
Pension scheme
Generous holiday allowance that increases with service
Corporate discounts and rewards platform

Genuine opportunities for progression and career development

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated bookkeeping professional who enjoys working closely with clients and wants to develop their career within a modern, growing and forward-thinking accountancy firm
