Assistant Accountant
Norwich
£32,500 Permanent Full Time
Keeler Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a well-established, family-owned business with the recruitment of a newly created Assistant Accountant position within their busy Accounts Team.
Key responsibilities:
Daily authorisation of payments
Completing Balance Sheet reconciliations, including providing clear narratives and following up outstanding items
Supporting the Accountant with the preparation of accruals and prepayments
Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
Responding to management queries relating to financial information
Monitoring outstanding debts and reporting on aged or overdue balances
Identifying opportunities to improve financial and operational processes
Supporting the analysis and review of existing procedures and controls
Highlighting discrepancies, potential issues or concerns to management, including any potential fraud
Providing financial and analytical information to support operational decision-making
Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation in line with company and legal requirements
About you:
AAT Level 3 qualification or equivalent is preferred, although candidates who are qualified by experience will also be considered
Previous experience within a busy finance or accounts environment
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Honest, reliable and professional with strong integrity
A flexible, positive and 'can-do' approach
Someone who is keen to develop their skills and progress within their finance career
