A successful and fast-growing business based in Kingswinford is looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant to join its finance team. Your New Role

As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the finance function across multiple business entities. This is a varied position that combines transactional accounting, reconciliations, project support and finance administration.

Key responsibilities will include:

Supporting project accounting activities and maintaining project trackers to assist with month-end reporting.
Completing bank reconciliations and investigating any discrepancies.
Reconciling company credit card transactions and ensuring appropriate supporting documentation is obtained.
Processing purchase invoices and ensuring accurate coding, VAT treatment and ledger allocations.
Maintaining supplier accounts and resolving outstanding queries.
Assisting with the maintenance of accurate purchase and general ledger records.
Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding invoice and payment queries.
Supporting month-end processes and financial reporting activities.
Providing general administrative support to the wider finance team.
Contributing to process improvements and continuous development within the finance function.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience within a finance or accounts environment and possess a solid understanding of accounting principles.You will ideally:

Be AAT qualified, currently studying towards AAT, or experienced to a similar level
Have experience in a finance, accounts assistant or finance administration role.
Have practical knowledge of purchase ledger processes, reconciliations and accounting transactions.
Understand debits, credits and basic double-entry bookkeeping.
Have experience investigating and resolving account discrepancies.
Possess a good understanding of VAT on routine transactions.
Be confident using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Be able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Be proactive, adaptable and keen to develop your accounting career.
