Location: Norwich (West)

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience

Full-Time Permanent and office based (free parking)

Reed Accountancy, Norwich is working with a well-known business on the outskirts of Norwich who are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join their growing Finance team. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, intercompany recharging, reconciliations, and analysis across multiple group businesses.

The Role

Initially, your focus will be on supporting the Finance Manager with the accurate allocation and recharging of costs across the group. As your knowledge and experience grow, you will take ownership of reporting activities and become involved in management accounts, forecasting, audit support, and wider financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Calculate and process intercompany recharges by analysing financial data and liaising with Finance Managers across the group.
Prepare journals and raise sales invoices to ensure accurate allocation of costs.
Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
Complete regular balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.
Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to management.

Future Development Opportunities

As your role develops, you will gain exposure to:

Producing and reviewing trial balances at month-end.
Updating monthly rolling forecasts for management review and group consolidation.
Assisting in the preparation of half-year and year-end management accounts.
Supporting the Tax team with required financial information.
Supporting Internal Audit reviews.
Assisting External Auditors during year-end audit processes.
Contributing to financial reporting and business performance analysis.

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Comfortable working with financial data and large volumes of information.
Analytical and confident using spreadsheets.
A strong communicator who can build effective working relationships across departments.
Proactive, eager to learn, and keen to develop their finance career.
Able to manage deadlines and prioritise workloads effectively.

Skills & Experience

Previous experience within a finance, accounts, or accounting support role.
Good understanding of reconciliations, journals, and accounting principles.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience using accounting systems would be advantageous
Competent user of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
