Job description

Reed Accountancy are pleased to be partnering with a North Oxfordshire client who are seeking a Finance Assistant to join their friendly and collaborative Finance Team. Working as part of a close knit team, you will play a key role in maintaining the sales ledger, managing customer accounts, and ensuring outstanding debts are collected efficiently while delivering excellent customer service.

Day-to-day responsibilities

Proactively manage debt collection activities and maintain an accurate debtor ledger.
Chase outstanding debts via telephone, email and written correspondence.
Complete and submit credit insurance reports.
Monitor and maintain debtor days in line with company targets.
Process and allocate customer payments accurately.
Issue customer statements and provide copy documentation when required.
Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and account queries.
Manage credit account applications, conduct credit checks and agree appropriate credit terms.
Prepare weekly debt reports for senior stakeholders and the finance team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Experience using Sage 200.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
Proven administrative skills.
Capable of working independently using your own initiative.
A collaborative team player who enjoys working within a busy finance department.
