Paralegal - Residential Conveyancing
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000
Location: York
Job Type: Full-time
We are seeking a dedicated Paralegal to join our clients Residential Conveyancing Department. This role involves a blend of administrative responsibilities, ensuring the efficient delivery of legal services. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess excellent organizational and communication skills, capable of effectively coordinating between clients and internal teams.
Day-to-day of the role:
Fee-Earning and Casework:
Assist with fee-earning activities under supervision, managing own caseload where possible.
Draft legal documents and correspondence.
Review and organize documents provided by clients or third parties.
Prepare case-related financial records and assist with the distribution of funds.
Process instructions in accordance with established procedures and the firm's quality standards.
Administrative and Support Services:
Provide administrative support including typing, diary management, and general office duties.
Manage filing systems, correspondence, and document handling.
Client Communication and Representation:
Maintain professional client interactions, ensuring confidentiality and discretion.
Respond promptly to client queries and support the processing of client instructions in line with firm procedures.
Teamwork and Professional Development:
Actively contribute to the team, organize and prioritize workloads, and engage in ongoing training to enhance legal knowledge and skills.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum of 2+ years' legal secretarial experience; full training will be provided.
Fast and accurate audio and copy typing skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
Experience with legal case management software (e.g., Partners for Windows) is advantageous.
Strong English grammar, spelling, legal terminology familiarity, and numerical skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage confidential information discreetly.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities as required.
