Job description

Interim Finance Assistant role in Birmingham, minimum 6 months, supporting a bus
Broad, all round transactional exposure: month end journals, prepayments, accrua
Circa £30,000 to £40,000, part qualified level ideal but experience is the prior

Finance Assistant Location: Birmingham Contract: Interim, initial minimum 6 months Day Rate: £180 - £200 per day

About the role A well established and growing business based in Birmingham is centralising its finance function as part of a wider restructure, bringing month end work in from regional offices into one central team. As part of this, they are looking for a Finance Assistant to join on an interim basis and support the transition, taking on a broad range of transactional and month end tasks as the team scales up.

This is a great opportunity for a finance assistant with solid all round transactional experience to get involved early in a centralisation project, working closely with the finance manager and gaining exposure to a business handling multiple entities and regional teams.

Key responsibilities

Posting month end journals
Preparing prepayments and accruals
Bank reconciliations and cash book postings
Supporting the month end close process as regional businesses transition in
General all round transactional finance support

What we are looking for

Solid, all round transactional finance experience, ideally including month end exposure
Experience is the priority; part qualified level would be ideal but is not essential
Background from a medium sized organisation with broad, all round exposure, rather than a very small business or a large corporate where duties were limited to one narrow area
SAGE or similar systems experience (such as NetSuite) is desirable but not essential
Experience within a professional services environment would be an advantage
