The Role
•Support employment lawyers in delivering high-quality, practical legal advice to clients.
•Produce written advice and guidance for day-to-day client queries, identifying opportunities for best advice and solutions-focused outcomes.
•Review and draft employment contracts, handbooks, and policies, identifying areas for improvement and compliance.
•Assist in preparing client documentation, tribunal bundles, and other employment law materials.
•Draft weekly email updates in the firm's straight-talking, commercial tone, helping keep clients informed about developments in employment law.
•Work with lawyers to onboard new clients efficiently, ensuring they are set up for success from day one.
•Contribute to project-based and retained client support work, developing a broad understanding of how employment law supports business operations.
•Collaborate with clients in sectors such as builders' merchants and industry suppliers, helping them stay compliant and avoid costly legal issues.
•Report to and receive mentorship from the Head of Legal Team, gaining exposure to real client work and guidance for future career progression.
You
•Hold an LLB, GDL, LPC, or other qualifying law degree
•Have completed an employment law elective or gained relevant practical experience.
•Detail-oriented, organised, and able to work confidently under guidance and initiative.
•Excellent written and verbal communicator with a commercial mindset.
•Enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to build a career within employment law.
•Team-focused, personable, and passionate about contributing to the success of a growing firm.
