MacKenzie King are proud to be working with one of our award winning and trusted partners, based in Ipswich, close to the A14 and other major transport links. This Accounts Assistant role will sit within their long standing and supportive finance team, providing key support to the wider business as it continues to grow and succeed. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues to ensure accurate records of customer payments are maintained and that any issues or queries are resolved promptly, helping to deliver the highest levels of customer service. Working alongside the Finance Manager, the Accounts Assistant will play a key role in ensuring service standards are met while managing a high-volume workload accurately and efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their finance and accounting career, offering the chance to develop new skills, gain valuable experience and build a strong foundation for future professional growth.

Key tasks and responsibilities

Process daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all banking transactions and supporting documentation.
Investigate, reconcile, and resolve outstanding items, discrepancies, and unmatched transactions in a timely manner.
Process and reconcile customer payments and refunds.
Post financial transactions to the accounting system within agreed timescales.
Support month-end and year-end processes.
Respond to queries in a timely and accurate manner.
Carry out general administrative tasks to support the finance team as required.

Qualifications and experience

Be accurate and have a high attention to detail

Act confidentiality and with professionalism
Able to work collaboratively with others
Be flexible with and supportive of others
Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent)
Good general numeracy and literacy skills
Previous experience working in a similar role
