Role overview

Blackheath Standard PMS are looking for an experienced and reliable receptionist to join our friendly Reception Team. The practice is situated in a pleasant part of Blackheath in South East London with good transport links and local shops.

The position is for 22 hours per week over four days, based on a seven week rolling rota. Please note that the rota is variable and you will be working different days over a seven week period.

This is based on a 7am start and 12. 30pm finish 8am start and 1pm finish, 1pm start and 6pm finish, 1.

30pm start with a 7pm finish. This can vary , depending on the needs of the practice during sickness and annual leave.

Flexibility is essential. Saturday mornings are part of our enhanced access service and there is the option to work these sessions on a rotation basis.

We are a friendly team, who are supportive of each other and there will be opportunity to develop new skills. Duties include: Covering reception desk, answering telephone calls, booking appointments via AccuRx triage system, dealing with patient queries, order prescriptions, process admin duties for clinical staff, general administration such as filing and liaising with other health care providers in a professional manner, and processing clinical letters through the Docman system.

The duties are variable, depending on what is required on the day. Candidates must have strong communication skills, be friendly, reliable and willing to learn.

The applicant must have the ability to prioritise workload. Applicants must have the ability to work within a team, have experience of EMIS, AccuRx and Docman and IT skills.

Previous experience of working in General Practice is essential, further training will be available for any candidates that show a passion for learning. Job Description Main duties include: Covering reception desk greeting patients and visitors with a professional and friendly manner.

Manage the booking system efficiently, signposting patients to the relevant services. Answering incoming calls, respond to queries and manage email correspondence promptly.

Assist clinicians as needed, including handling paperwork, stocking consultation rooms and daily end of day duties to ensure the rooms are meeting infection control standards. Manage office supplies, handling incoming/outgoing post and perform general administrative duties.

Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality. Candidates must have strong communication skills, be friendly, reliable and willing to learn and develop their skills.
