Role overview
We are looking to recruit a full time/part-time receptionist to join our friendly GP practice team. Applicants should have GP receptionist experience and knowledge of SystmOne.
GP receptionists will receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. We are looking for a candidate who can be flexible within the role, to have the ability to adapt to the daily needs of the practice and to support annual leave cover and absences when required.
Managing a high volume of phone calls from patients and health care professionals Greeting, checking-in and booking appointments for patients at the front desk Dealing with day-to-day administration tasks, including processing referrals, online patient requests, and other documents Dealing with repeat prescription requests Responding efficiently and with respect and empathy to patient enquiries both in person, by telephone and online Advise patients of relevant charges for non-NHS services, accept payment and issue receipts Remaining patient and calm in often stressful situations Scanning, filing and photocopying documents Clerical support to GPs and the wider healthcare team Understand and disseminate NHS wider policies to patients when requested Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the management team Support the practice team with patient wellbeing events such as patient coffee mornings/drinks This role is to recruit a medical receptionist. The successful candidate needs to be flexible within the role and have the ability to adapt to the daily needs of the practice and cover annual leave and absences when required.
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
To work closely with the other reception staff to ensure the smooth running of reception and efficient delivery of services to the patients.
