Role overview
Royal Docks Medical Practice are looking for part-time, preferably experienced GP receptionists with excellent communication and customer service skills to join our friendly team. Positions required for the afternoon shift - 1.
30pm-6. 30pm, Mon-Friday.
In addition, at least one Saturday per month, working on a Rota system. Subject to review with 6 months provisional period.
You will become part of our busy reception team and strive to ensure our patients receive the best possible service from the Practice. With good inter-personal skills and able to respond sympathetically to queries and direct people appropriately, you will possess good administrative and organisational skills.
Applicants must be willing to work flexibly to cover holidays. Receptionists also do much more, supporting the GPs and Nurses with keeping patients informed about their health. We are looking for enthusiastic, professional, clearly spoken receptionists who preferably have experience of working within a busy GP surgery using EMIS WEB Clinical System.

Full training and support would be offered to the successful applicant . Duties and responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the practice administration team may include any or all of the items in the following list.
Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the senior receptionist/practice manager, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels: Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations, and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail Taking messages and passing on information Filing and retrieving paperwork Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member and associated healthcare agencies and providers Clearing and re-stocking of consulting rooms as required Providing clerical assistance to practice staff as required from time to time, including word/data processing, filing, photocopying and scanning The monitoring of stationery and other supplies Keeping the reception area, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter
