Job Title: Residential Support Worker
Pay: 13.82 - 17.29 per hour
Location: Eastbourne
Working Pattern: Day or Night Shifts Available
In this role you will help young people become more independent and grow personally through various enjoyable activities within a safe environment. This is a truly rewarding opportunity where you have a fulfilling chance to positively influence the lives of vulnerable children and young people who have experienced trauma, instability and adversity.
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a therapeutic, nurturing and structured environment where young people feel understood, supported and cared for within a Ofsted Registered Children's Home in Eastbourne, which is rated "Good".
The home is a specialist residential children's home supporting up to 4 young people aged 13 to 17 (currently supporting one young person) with complex and additional needs, including foetal alcohol syndrome, learning disabilities, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, visual impairment, developmental delays and communication difficulties.
The role requires individuals who can remain calm, patient and resilient when supporting behaviours that may challenge, including verbal and physical aggression, property damage and self injurious behaviours. You will work closely with colleagues to follow individual care plans, risk assessments and positive behaviour support strategies. Personal care is also an important part of this role, including supporting personal hygiene, bathing, dressing and continence needs where required, while promoting independence, dignity and choice.
We are looking for compassionate, active and emotionally intelligent individuals who can combine warmth and relationship building with professional boundaries, consistency and a genuine commitment to improving a young person's quality of life.
