Job description

Accounts Payable Clerk NG,000 Temporary Fully onsite

Astute Recruitment is recruiting for a Temporary Accounts Payable Clerk to join an established business based in the NG17 area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous purchase ledger or Accounts Payable experience who can hit the ground running and provide reliable, hands-on support to a busy finance team.

The successful candidate will be comfortable processing a high volume of supplier invoices, maintaining accurate financial records and helping ensure the purchase ledger runs smoothly. This is an ongoing temporary assignment, ideal for someone who enjoys a practical, transactional finance role and can make an immediate contribution.

Key Responsibilities:

Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
Coding, matching and posting invoices onto the accounting system.
Maintaining accurate purchase ledger records and supplier accounts.
Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies.
Responding to supplier queries and resolving invoice-related issues.
Supporting the finance team with month-end activities and outstanding invoice queries.
Ensuring invoices are processed within agreed timescales.
Providing general accounts administration and supporting the wider finance function as required.

About You:

We're looking for a dependable and organised individual with a good understanding of Accounts Payable and the ability to manage a busy workload.

You will ideally have:

Previous experience in an Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger or Accounts Assistant role.
Experience processing supplier invoices in a busy finance environment.
Good attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
Experience with supplier statement reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
Confidence using accounting systems and Microsoft Office.
Good communication skills when dealing with suppliers and internal colleagues.
A proactive, reliable approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Experience with Sage or a similar accounting system would be advantageous.
