This Purchase Ledger Assistant role in the retail industry is based in Warrington and focuses on managing supplier invoices and payments to keep the accounts running smoothly. You'll play a key part in the accounting and finance team, ensuring accurate records and timely transactions.

Description

Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate data entry into the system.
Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes.
Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
Prepare and process payment runs in line with company schedules.
Assist with month-end processes and reporting requirements.
Respond to supplier queries in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain organised and up-to-date records of financial transactions.
Support the wider accounting and finance team as needed.

Profile

A successful Purchase Ledger Assistant should have:

Experience in a similar role within an accounting or finance team.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
Knowledge of purchase ledger processes and procedures.
Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and managing workloads.
Good communication skills for liaising with suppliers and team members.
