Job description
We are looking for a Commercial Administrator to join our clients Commercial team. The role will support the Commercial Manager and wider team with day-to-day commercial administration
The role will support the full process from weekly labour call-offs and order placement through to authorised amendments, timesheet and rate checks, assessment of supplier applications for payment, and maintaining accurate commercial records and audit trails.
Key responsibilities
Support the Commercial Manager with the weekly labour call-off and ordering process
Prepare labour orders and action authorised amendments
Review supplier applications for payment, including checking timesheets, rates and supporting information
Maintain accurate trackers, records and audit trails
Liaise with suppliers and wider project teams to resolve queries
Identify discrepancies and support their timely resolution
Provide general commercial and administrative support to the commercial team
Skills and experience
Highly organised, proactive and driven
Collaborative and able to work effectively with suppliers and wider project teams
Accurate, with strong attention to detail
Confident and skilled using Microsoft Excel
Able to follow processes and manage tasks with minimal supervision
A practical problem-solver who takes ownership of their work
Clear and professional in written and verbal communication
The following would be desirable:
Be working towards, or have completed, a qualification in quantity surveying, commercial management, construction or a related discipline; and/or Have previous experience in a Commercial Assistant, Commercial Administrator, Commercial Systems or similar support role, preferably within the construction or infrastructure sector
Candidates with strong transferable skills from another process-driven, finance, procurement or administrative role will also be considered. Previous rail experience is desirable but not essential
