Job description
Ecommerce Manager
The role: This is a hands-on trading role.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will own the day-to-day commercial performance of the brand's Shopify store - running the weekly trading rhythm, shipping site changes and improving conversion week by week - while delivering a customer experience that reflects the brand's brand values.
You will work alongside our Marketing, Merchandising, Product and Performance teams, and with our developers and agencies. As a member of the brand's Senior Leadership Team, you will lead the eCommerce function within the brand.
We are looking for someone who does the work rather than directs it, and who can tell us what each change was worth.
What you will do
Trading and commercial performance
Own the weekly trading rhythm: what happened against plan, why, and what you are doing about it
Own the numbers day to day - conversion rate, traffic, sessions, AOV and margin - and act quickly when trading moves off plan
Plan and execute the trading calendar, promotions and launches with the brand and merchandising teams
Keep the site aligned with stock reality: work with merchandising on availability and pricing so we never promote what we cannot supply, and protect brand integrity
Trade our DTC site and third-party channels for performance and profitability
Customer experience and conversion
Run the on-site testing programme - design, build and read A/B tests, act on the results and roll out what wins
Own conversion optimisation across product pages, collection pages, cart and checkout
Merchandise the site day to day: collections, search and discovery, product sequencing, and landing pages for campaigns and launches
Work with tech, ops and our developers/agencies to specify and ship site changes on Shopify - integrations, releases, tracking and technical optimisation - so the site performs seamlessly
Use data and insight to improve conversion, engagement and retention
Search
Develop and deliver the brand's SEO strategy, across traditional search engines and AI platforms
Leadership and collaboration
Lead the eCommerce function within the brand, as a member of the Senior Leadership Team
Align with Marketing, Merchandising, Product and Performance teams so that traffic and conversion goals connect
Drive collaboration and continuous improvement across the eCommerce function and the brand as a whole
Reporting and insight
Own the trading reports and dashboards, and turn them into actionable growth plans
Bring digital retail insight and trends into the business to guide innovation and strategy
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
Essential
Proven track record in eCommerce roles, running a site day to day - ideally on Shopify Plus or a similar platform
Real CRO experience - you have run A/B tests, read them properly, and can talk about the ones that failed as well as the ones that worked
Confident in GA4, trading dashboards and site analytics, and able to reach your own conclusions from data rather than reporting it
Hands-on with the platform - you can make changes yourself rather than always briefing someone else
Strong understanding of UX, web design, customer flow and the sales journey
Able to size your work commercially: what changed, what it moved, and what it was worth
Comfortable owning a number and being accountable for it
Excellent communication and stakeholder management across teams and agencies
Helpful
Experience in a DTC business
Knowledge of attribution modelling, website speed optimisation and traffic analysis tools
Experience with merchandising or personalisation tools
Fashion, apparel or another considered-purchase category
