Personal Injury Paralegal

Bristol

Salary up to £40,000 DOE

Yolk Recruitment is working with a national law firm looking to recruit an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal into its specialist Claimant Serious and Catastrophic Personal Injury team in Bristol.

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced personal injury professional who is already comfortable running their own litigated caseload and wants to develop further within serious injury work. The caseload will focus particularly on claims involving motor and vulnerable road users, including cyclists, motorcyclists and pedestrians.

This is what you will be doing

As a Personal Injury Paralegal, your duties and responsibilities will be:

Managing your own mixed caseload of Fast Track and Intermediate Track personal injury claims.
Handling claims involving motor accidents and vulnerable road users.
Conducting litigation independently, including progressing claims from the issue of proceedings through to trial.
Working on cases involving polytrauma, pain disorders and psychiatric injuries.
Communicating effectively with clients, insurers and other parties throughout the lifecycle of a claim.
Taking responsibility for progressing matters efficiently and meeting relevant deadlines and service standards.
Supporting the development of trainee case handlers through training, case planning and supervision where required.
Participating in regular team meetings and contribute to the wider performance of the department.

The experience you will bring to the team

You will bring the following experience to the Personal Injury team:-

Previous experience independently managing a personal injury caseload.
Experience handling claims involving motor and vulnerable road users.
A solid understanding of the litigation process, including issuing proceedings and progressing matters towards trial.
Experience dealing with injuries such as polytrauma, chronic pain and psychiatric disorders.
Exposure to moderate brain injury or fatal accident claims would be particularly useful, although it is not essential.
Strong organisation and case-management skills with the ability to work effectively to deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A practical, proactive approach and the confidence to manage expectations with clients and other stakeholders.
