Job description

Change Recruitment are pleased to be working with a growing business based in Taunton, Somerset. They are looking to add a newly created role of Assistant Management Accountant to the finance team, reporting directly to the Head of Finance.

In this role you will be responsible for the production of monthly management accounts to help support effective decision making by the senior management team. Some key duties are outlined below:

Prepare monthly management accounts accurately and to agreed deadlines
Maintain and develop cost centre and departmental reporting
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, depreciation and other month-end journals
Support the monthly close process and maintain appropriate month-end schedules and controls
Analyse actual performance against budget, forecast and prior periods, providing clear explanations for material variances
Support stock accounting and inventory control
Produce meaningful financial and operational analysis
Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow reporting
Support the development of management information, KPIs and Board reporting
Assist with VAT returns and other statutory or regulatory finance requirements.
Support year-end accounts preparation
Develop effective working relationships with colleagues across all departments

The ideal candidate will have experience producing sets of management accounts and be confident in building internal working relationships with colleagues. You will have strong systems experience and be confident in the use of MS Excel to generate reports.
