Senior Bookkeeper

Location: Northampton Salary: Up to £40,000 DOE Working Pattern: Full-Time or Part-Time (3 Days per Week Available) Flexible Hours Available

Key Responsibilities

Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of SME clients across various sectors
Processing sales and purchase ledger transactions
Bank reconciliations and cashbook management
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Maintaining accurate financial records and client accounts
Assisting with management accounts preparation
Liaising with clients to resolve bookkeeping queries
Supporting year-end accounts preparation
Processing journals, accruals and prepayments where required
Using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks and Sage

About You

Previous bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice environment
Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping principles
Experience preparing and submitting VAT returns
Familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems
Organised with excellent attention to detail
Comfortable managing your own workload and client relationships
AAT qualified or qualified by experience candidates welcome
