Job description

Robertson Bell is recruiting a Finance Officer on a permanent basis for an international charity. The Finance Officer will join a high-performing finance team, taking responsibility for core finance processes alongside regular donor and stakeholder engagement.

The Role

Managing month-end processes, journals, reconciliations and financial reporting.
Processing financial transactions accurately and maintaining strong financial controls.
Responding to donor queries and handling communications with professionalism and tact.
Liaising with colleagues across the organisation and external stakeholders to resolve queries.
Managing finance and donor databases, supporting reporting and identifying opportunities to improve processes.
Supporting the handling and banking of cash donations when required.

The Person

Previous finance experience, with a good understanding of general finance processes and month-end activity.
Customer-facing or stakeholder-facing experience, with the confidence to build positive relationships with a wide range of people.
Strong communication skills, with a professional, friendly and approachable manner.
A calm, adaptable and reliable approach, with the ability to manage routine finance work alongside unexpected queries.
Strong attention to detail and a proven ability to take ownership of work and deliver accurately.
Confident using Excel and financial systems, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
