Family & Care Legal Secretary - Nottingham Location: Nottingham Salary: £25,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm Job Type: Full Time Permanent

Are you an experienced Family Legal Secretary or Care Legal Secretary looking for your next opportunity in Nottingham?

A well-established and forward-thinking law firm is looking to recruit a Legal Secretary to join its growing Family & Care department. The Role As a Family & Care Legal Secretary, you'll provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to solicitors and fee earners, helping to ensure the smooth running of the department and the delivery of excellent client care.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing day-to-day secretarial and administrative support to Family and Care solicitors.
Preparing, formatting and proofreading legal documents and correspondence.
Audio typing and accurately transcribing digital dictation.
Opening and maintaining client files and updating legal case management systems.
Managing diaries, arranging appointments and coordinating meetings.
Liaising with clients, courts, counsel and other legal professionals.
Handling telephone calls, emails and client enquiries professionally and sensitively.
Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence.
Assisting with general file management and departmental administration.
Providing occasional reception cover when required.

About You Applications are welcomed from experienced Legal Secretaries, ideally with previous experience in Family Law, Childcare Law or Care Proceedings.

The successful candidate will have:

Previous experience working as a Legal Secretary, ideally within a Family or Care department.
Strong audio typing and legal document production skills.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A professional, empathetic approach when dealing with clients.
Confidence using Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
The ability to work independently and as part of a busy legal team.

Experience within Family or Care Law would be advantageous, although Legal Secretaries from other practice areas are also encouraged to apply.
