Job description

Keeping every stage of the employee journey accurate, organised and on track makes a real difference to both employees and managers. As an HR Administrator, you'll provide the day-to-day support that keeps a busy people function running smoothly, from onboarding and contractual changes through to payroll information, absence and leavers.

This is maternity cover within a global manufacturing business with Investors in People Gold accreditation and a positive outlook for continued growth. You'll join an established team where you can use your existing employment law knowledge, work across a broad range of people processes and gain exposure to projects and continuous improvement activity.

Your responsibilities as HR Administrator

Support the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, contractual changes, payroll updates and leavers.
Maintain accurate employee records and systems while ensuring sensitive information is handled confidentially and in line with data protection requirements.
Prepare offer letters, contracts, amendments, correspondence and other documentation using agreed processes and templates.
Coordinate pre-employment checks, inductions and new starter documentation, helping new employees get off to an organised start.
Collate and check payroll and benefits information, manage routine inbox enquiries and escalate more complex matters appropriately.
Support absence, annual leave, training, wellbeing and employee relations activity alongside reporting, audits, policy updates and improvement projects.

What we're looking for in a HR Administrator

Previous experience in HR administration, an assistant-level position or a comparable people-support role.
Sound knowledge of employment law and the ability to apply it appropriately within day-to-day administration.
Strong administrative skills, including experience maintaining confidential employee information and accurate records.
Confident use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, with previous exposure to relevant systems or databases advantageous.
CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 qualification, or current study towards either level, would be advantageous.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00-15:00, with some flexibility available.
