Job description

Hays Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Wigan to recruit a friendly and organised School Receptionist for an ongoing temporary position starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator or receptionist who enjoys working in a busy school environment and providing a professional first point of contact for pupils, parents, visitors and staff.

The Role

As the School Receptionist, you will be responsible for:
Managing the school's reception area and welcoming visitors
Answering and directing telephone calls and handling enquiries
Signing visitors in and out in line with safeguarding procedures
Supporting with general administrative duties including filing, email management and data entry
Assisting with attendance and pupil records where required
Providing excellent customer service to parents, staff and external agencies
Supporting the wider school office team with day-to-day administration

What You'll Need

Previous reception or administrative experience
School-based experience is desirable but not essential
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A professional, friendly and approachable manner
Strong IT skills and the ability to learn school systems quickly
The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
