Police Station Accredited Criminal Paralegal

Location: Central London
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience (DOE)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Join a well-established and highly regarded criminal defence firm as a Police Station Accredited Criminal Paralegal. This role is ideal for a criminal law professional who is either already Police Station Accredited, actively working towards accreditation, or has commenced the Police Station Accreditation Scheme. The successful candidate will be experienced in attending police stations, managing their own caseload, and supporting clients through all stages of criminal proceedings.

Day-to-day of the role:

Attend police stations to represent and assist clients under legal aid.
Manage your own caseload of criminal matters from inception to conclusion.
Prepare case files, draft legal documents, and liaise with clients, counsel, courts, and external agencies.
Assist on a broad range of criminal defence matters, including summary and indictable offences.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Legal Aid Agency requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Police Station Accreditation is preferred; however, candidates who are actively progressing through the accreditation process or have at least started the Police Station Accreditation Scheme will also be considered.
Experience attending police stations and assisting clients in criminal matters.
Ability to manage your own caseload with appropriate supervision where required.
Strong understanding of criminal procedure and legal aid processes.
Excellent communication, organisation, and client care skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced criminal defence environment.
