Job description

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established organisation in Marlow as a Part Time Finance Assistant. Working within a friendly and supportive team, you will provide essential day-to-day finance support and help ensure transactions and records are processed accurately and efficiently.

The position offers plenty of variety across purchase ledger, banking, expenses and general accounts administration. It would suit someone who is organised, numerically confident and comfortable taking responsibility for their own workload.

Salary £30,000-£35,000 per annum pro rata.

The role is office based and offers approximately 20-25 hours per week, ideally worked across four days. There can be some flexibility around the exact working pattern.

Key Responsibilities

Process purchase invoices and ensure the necessary approvals are obtained
Record incoming and outgoing payments accurately
Complete regular bank and supplier account reconciliations
Prepare information for supplier payment runs
Respond to supplier queries and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies
Maintain accurate finance records and supporting documentation
Process employee expenses and company card transactions
Assist with month-end checks and ensure transactions have been correctly recorded
Provide general finance support across the wider business
Provide additional analysis and administrative assistance to the finance team
Assist with sales ledger activity when required

About You

Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger or similar position
A good practical understanding of finance and accounting processes
Experience using Sage or another accounting software package
Strong numerical ability and excellent attention to detail
Highly organised and capable of managing several priorities
Confident communicating with colleagues and external suppliers
Able to work accurately and independently within a supportive team
An AAT or other finance qualification would be advantageous but is not essential
