Marauders Men's Health Charity is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of men and creating opportunities for men to connect, build supportive relationships and access the help they need.
We recognise that men can face significant barriers to talking about their mental and physical health. Through our activities, support, volunteering and community engagement, we aim to create welcoming, inclusive spaces where men feel able to participate, connect and thrive.
We are looking for a passionate and organised Wellbeing and Volunteer Coordinator to play a key role in supporting our wellbeing activities and developing our volunteer network.
The Role
The Wellbeing and Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and developing Marauders' wellbeing activities while supporting, recruiting and engaging volunteers across the charity.
This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who enjoys working with people, building relationships and creating positive opportunities within the community.
You will be an important point of contact for volunteers and participants, helping to ensure that our activities are safe, welcoming, inclusive and responsive to the needs of the men we support.
The successful candidate will be confident working independently, but also enjoy being part of a small, committed team. You will need excellent communication and organisational skills, a positive attitude and a genuine commitment to improving men's health and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Wellbeing Coordination
•Coordinate and support the delivery of Marauders' wellbeing activities, groups, sessions and events.
•Help develop activities that encourage men to improve their physical, mental and social wellbeing.
•Create a welcoming and inclusive environment where participants feel comfortable and valued.
•Build positive relationships with participants and identify opportunities to improve their experience.
•Monitor attendance patterns and personally connect with disengaged members to provide targeted encouragement and support.
•Work with the CEO to develop wellbeing plans for beneficiaries
•Gather feedback from participants and use this to inform the development of activities and services.
•Assist with planning, promoting and evaluating wellbeing programmes and events.
Volunteer Coordination
•Recruit, welcome, support and retain volunteers across the charity.
•Develop positive and supportive relationships with volunteers.
•Coordinate volunteer rotas, roles and activities.
•Ensure volunteers receive appropriate induction, guidance, training and ongoing support.
•Help volunteers understand their roles, responsibilities and boundaries.
•Recognise and celebrate volunteer contributions.
•Maintain accurate volunteer records and ensure relevant checks, documentation and training are kept up to date.
•Identify opportunities for volunteers to develop new skills and take on additional responsibilities.
•Organise volunteer meetings, briefings and opportunities for feedback.
•Support the development of a positive, inclusive and rewarding volunteer culture.
Community Engagement
•Build relationships with local organisations, community groups and relevant services.
•Promote Marauders' activities and volunteering opportunities within the local community.
•Attend community events and represent the charity in a professional and positive manner.
•Help identify opportunities to reach men who may benefit from Marauders' support.
•Support partnership working with organisations involved in men's health, wellbeing and community development.
Administration, Monitoring and Safeguarding
•Maintain accurate records relating to participants, volunteers and activities.
•Support monitoring and evaluation of projects and services.
•Contribute to reports, funding applications and evidence of impact where required.
•Follow Marauders' policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, equality and diversity, confidentiality and data protection.
•Identify and appropriately report safeguarding or wellbeing concerns in line with organisational procedures.
•Support risk assessments and ensure activities are delivered safely.
•Undertake other reasonable duties that support the effective operation and development of the charity.
Person Specification
Essential
•Experience of working with people in a community, voluntary, wellbeing, health or support setting.
•Experience of coordinating volunteers, activities, groups or community projects.
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
•Ability to build trust and positive relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
•Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
•Confidence working independently and using initiative.
•Good written and verbal communication skills.
•A non-judgemental, empathetic and inclusive approach.
•An understanding of the importance of men's health and wellbeing.
•Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
•Good IT and administrative skills.
•Willingness to work some evenings or weekends when required for events or activities.
Desirable
•Experience of working specifically with men and/or men's health.
•Experience of supporting people experiencing mental health or wellbeing challenges.
•Experience of recruiting, training or managing volunteers.
•Knowledge of local community and voluntary-sector services.
•Experience of partnership working with health, community or voluntary organisations.
•Relevant qualifications or training in health, wellbeing, community development, volunteering or a related field.
•Experience of monitoring outcomes and evaluating community programmes.
