Accounts Assistant
Annual Salary: £27,000 - £29,000 depending on experience
Location: East Bristol
Job Type: Full-time, Office-based
Join a leading UK manufacturer as an Accounts Assistant. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the finance function of a well-respected manufacturing business, ensuring the accuracy of financial records and supporting the smooth operation of the company.
Day-to-day of the role:
Purchase Ledger
Process purchase invoices, including matching, batching, and coding.
Reconcile supplier statements.
Support weekly and monthly payment runs.
Manage supplier queries professionally and promptly.
Sales Ledger
Raise customer invoices and credit notes.
Post and allocate customer receipts.
Assist with credit control as needed.
Finance Administration
Complete daily bank reconciliations.
Process staff expenses.
Support month-end processes, including journals, accruals, and prepayments.
Maintain accurate financial records and files.
Assist with VAT returns and audit preparation.
General Administration
Prepare sales order quotes and raise purchase orders as directed.
Support with sales invoices and export paperwork.
Provide general administrative support to various business areas as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role.
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Good working knowledge of accounting software.
Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas.
Good communication skills for dealing with suppliers and internal teams.
Proactive, organised, and reliable approach.
Desirable: AAT study or interest, experience in a manufacturing environment, and familiarity with multi-currency transactions.
