Credit Controller
Location: Epsom (Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days remote)
Salary: £30,000 + Benefits
Job Type: Full-time, permanent role.
Join a well-established and fast-paced organisation as a Credit Controller. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone with existing credit control experience who enjoys building relationships, managing their own ledger, and driving cash collection performance.
Day-to-day of the role:
Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debt while minimizing risk and maintaining strong customer relationships.
Proactively chase outstanding payments via phone, email, and other channels.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all customer interactions.
Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Monitor credit limits and ensure they remain appropriate.
Manage and review credit-stopped orders, taking necessary action.
Identify changes in customer payment behaviour and escalate risks.
Log and resolve customer queries in a timely manner.
Process new account applications and support credit decision-making.
Support with ad hoc finance and credit control projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year's experience in Credit Control or a similar finance role.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with customers.
Confident working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail.
Proactive and positive, with a "can-do" attitude.
Comfortable managing your own workload and prioritising effectively.
Strong team player who thrives under pressure.
Good level of numeracy and literacy (GCSE Maths & English or equivalent).
Intermediate Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables).
Previous experience within an accounts or credit control environment.
Strong customer service focus.
Desirable:
Experience with credit control systems or ERP platforms.
Exposure to credit checking tools and risk assessment processes.
Professional credit qualifications or willingness to study (e.g., CICM).
