HR Assistant
Job Type: Temporary
We are seeking a dedicated HR Assistant to support our HR team by providing comprehensive administrative assistance across the Trust. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient HR operations and ensuring compliance with employment standards and school policies.
Day-to-day of the role:
HR Administration:
Draft and distribute employment-related documents such as contract changes and promotion letters.
Manage the HR inbox, ensuring emails are correctly allocated.
Conduct exit interviews and complete leaver actions promptly.
Maintain confidential HR files and adhere to GDPR and data retention principles.
Assist with the preparation of the annual staff workforce census and training actions.
Access People (HR & Payroll system):
Update and maintain records accurately and timely.
Assist with payroll submissions and system queries.
Explore ways to streamline HR processes using the system.
Prepare reports for stakeholders as needed.
Employee Relations:
Address day-to-day employment queries and provide necessary support.
Support absence management processes and liaise with Occupational Health providers.
Recruitment & Onboarding:
Manage the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding process.
Advertise vacancies, support interview days, and conduct pre-employment checks.
Ensure compliance with Safer Recruitment standards and maintain accurate staff files.
General Responsibilities:
Uphold the school's ethos and values, ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies.
Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
Collaborate with colleagues across departments to foster a positive work environment.
Participate in training and development activities and support the school's commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience in HR administration, preferably within an educational or similar setting.
Familiarity with HRIS systems, ideally Access People.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to professional development and learning.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
