Junior Bookkeeper

Leigh-on-Sea, Essex

Up to £32,000 per annum

Full-Time Permanent Office-Based

Reed Accountancy Practice are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in Leigh-on-Sea for a Junior Bookkeeper.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a supportive accountancy practice environment. The successful candidate will already have experience working within an accountancy practice and be keen to further their bookkeeping knowledge and skills.

The Role

Working as part of a friendly and experienced team, you will assist with the bookkeeping requirements for a varied portfolio of clients.

Duties will include:

Processing bookkeeping records for a range of clients
Preparing bank reconciliations
Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers
Assisting with VAT return preparation and submissions
Supporting the preparation of management accounts
Working with cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, Sage and QuickBooks
Liaising with clients to obtain financial information and resolve queries
Ensuring accurate and timely record keeping

The Ideal Candidate

To be considered for this role, you will have:

Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
Experience undertaking bookkeeping duties
Good knowledge of VAT and bookkeeping principles
Experience using Xero, Sage and/or QuickBooks
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Excellent communication skills
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
