Bookkeeper

Wickford, Essex (Hybrid Working Available)

Up to £32,000 per annum

Full Time, Permanent

Reed Accountancy Practice are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in Wickford for an experienced Bookkeeper.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with previous accountancy practice experience who is looking to join a friendly and supportive team, with the flexibility of hybrid working available.

The Role

As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and providing a high-quality bookkeeping service, ensuring accuracy and compliance at all times.

Key responsibilities will include:

Processing bookkeeping records for a varied client portfolio
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Bank reconciliations
Managing sales and purchase ledgers
Assisting with management accounts preparation
Liaising directly with clients regarding bookkeeping queries
Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring deadlines are met
Working with cloud-based accounting software including Xero, Sage and QuickBooks

The Ideal Candidate

To be considered for this position, you will have:

Previous bookkeeping experience gained within an accountancy practice
Strong knowledge of VAT and bookkeeping principles
Experience using Xero, Sage and/or QuickBooks
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
AAT qualification or studies would be advantageous but are not essential
