THE ROLE

As PR Assistant, you will play a key role in helping to promote and grow the business through creative storytelling. Reporting to the Head of PR and working alongside the PR & Social Media Executive, you will support the delivery of external communications, developing PR that stands out, enhances the firm's brand and protects its reputation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PR ASSISTANT

PR

Assisting the Head of PR in growing the PR strategy in line with business development campaigns and initiatives
Generating news stories and PR hooks
Building relationships with journalists and key stakeholders
Researching new media outlets and making recommendations for pitches
Drafting and distributing press releases, briefings and Q&A documents for key target national, trade and regional press
Working with media platforms to track all coverage and developing various reports
Maintaining and developing a wide range of media lists
Attending meetings with teams and partners
Working closely with the internal comms team to ensure alignment on news and content

Digital content creation

Uploading news articles, press releases and profile pages to the website
Working with the team on promoting PR across social media channels
Supporting the team in the recording and promoting of podcasts

General

Supporting the Head of PR with admin and general activity, picking up ad hoc duties as they arise
Dealing with general enquiries as they arise
Providing general assistance across the whole team as required

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

2-3 years PR experience, gained within an existing PR background (PR agency and professional services environment desirable)
Experienced in PR and communications concepts and practices
Excellent communication and writing skills
Excels in creating interesting content
Well-organised, able to work to deadlines
Ability to think outside the box with an eye for detail
Creative and confident in liaising with senior teams and presenting
CIM/PR qualifications or a desire to study them desirable
Ability to turn technical information into interesting news, with creative flair
Ability to use initiative and work with limited supervision, with a positive, proactive approach
Understanding of social media
Keen interest in the news agenda
Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines under pressure
A strong team player, ready to help colleagues
Well presented with a polite, professional manner
Flexible and committed, willing to work outside office hours and travel within the UK as required
Excellent IT skills, including MS Office
