Job description
Are you looking to develop your career within a growing e-commerce, retail and wholesale business?
We are seeking an enthusiastic Accounts & Operations Assistant to join our busy team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with bookkeeping experience and knowledge of Xero who is looking to gain valuable experience in both accounting and operational logistics within a fast-paced business environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts & Bookkeeping
General bookkeeping and accounting duties
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
Process purchase invoices for stock and business expenditure
Assist with credit control and monitor outstanding payments
Investigate and resolve billing queries
Communicate with customers and suppliers regarding account-related matters
Maintain accurate financial records using Xero
Support the finance team with ad hoc accounting tasks
Operations & Logistics
Manage import shipments from origin through to final delivery
Coordinate pre-shipment activities with overseas offices and suppliers
Ensure all shipments are accurately created and recorded
Monitor vessel arrivals and carry out daily ETA checks
Maintain accurate shipment records, documents and eDocs
Liaise with freight forwarders, suppliers and logistics partners to ensure smooth delivery of goods
Support operational processes to ensure efficient stock movement and supply chain management
About You
Essential
Minimum 12 months' bookkeeping or accounting experience
Experience using Xero accounting software
Good Excel skills
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Desirable
Studying towards an AAT qualification
Experience using Dext
Experience within retail, wholesale, e-commerce, import/export or logistics environments

Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 per annum
