HR Administrator (3-Month Contract)

Location: Education Sector Bristol BS16 Contract: 3 Months Fixed-Term Contract Salary: Competitive temporary hourly rate

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation within the education sector for an experienced HR Administrator to join their team on an initial 3-month contract.

This is a varied and fast-paced role providing both HR and general administrative support across multiple sites. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the employee lifecycle, maintaining accurate HR records, assisting with payroll administration, and ensuring compliance with safeguarding requirements.

Candidates must hold, or be willing to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check and be available to start a 3-month contract.

Key Responsibilities

HR Administration

Maintain employee records and HR databases, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
Support payroll administration, including processing absence, overtime, expenses and contractual changes.
Prepare employment contracts, amendments and associated documentation.
Process starters, movers and leavers on HR systems.
Monitor and record sickness absence and other leave, producing reports as required.
Assist with absence management processes, including monitoring trigger points and issuing relevant documentation.
Respond to routine HR queries from employees.
Produce HR reports and management information relating to workforce data, compliance and absence trends.
Support ongoing HR projects and initiatives.
Maintain compliance records, including the Single Central Record and DBS documentation.

Administration Support

Provide general administrative support to the wider organisation.
Manage incoming calls, emails and correspondence.
Prepare documents, reports and letters.
Maintain filing systems and records.
Order stationery and office supplies.
Provide administrative support across sites when required.

About You

Essential Requirements

Previous HR administration experience.
Previous administration experience within a busy office environment.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexible approach and willingness to support across different sites when required.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Experience working within an education or public sector environment.
Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
CIPD qualification or working towards CIPD.
Experience maintaining safeguarding and compliance records.
