Customer Service Advisor

Location: Northampton Salary: £25,500 - £26,000 per annum, plus a competitive annual bonus. Hours: Full Time Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract (Maternity Cover) until November 2027 Reporting To: Office Manager

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Service Advisor to join our busy team in Northampton on a full-time fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover until November 2027.

This is a varied and fast-paced role where you'll be responsible for building strong customer relationships, managing a daily outbound call diary, processing orders, handling customer enquiries, and delivering exceptional levels of customer service. You'll also play a key role in supporting promotional activities and identifying opportunities to upsell products to customers.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a daily outbound call schedule and proactively engage with customers.
Handle a high volume of inbound calls, including customer enquiries, orders, complaints and delivery requests.
Process customer orders accurately and efficiently via telephone, email and voicemail.
Convert inbound customer interactions into future planned outbound opportunities.
Take ownership of customer queries and resolve issues through proactive customer service.
Promote company products, including own-brand ranges and current sales promotions.
Identify upselling opportunities and promote products from the latest promotional campaigns.
Work closely with Account Managers to support customer retention, composite selling and new business opportunities.
Understand customer needs and recommend relevant products and services.
Support general office administration duties, including order processing, filing, post handling and customer confirmations.
Utilise available reports and internal systems to maximise sales opportunities and customer engagement.

Skills & Experience

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:

Excellent customer service skills with a customer-first approach.
A confident, professional and personable telephone manner.
Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
Good teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
Experience using Microsoft Excel for spreadsheets and record management.
Ability to learn and utilise internal systems, including Trinity.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Good product knowledge or the ability to quickly learn and understand product ranges.
A positive attitude and a proactive approach to problem solving.
